I have a few defender questions. My dad's rebuilding the swivels on his 1995 NAS Defender 90, and he's run into a snag with the parts kit he got
The kit came with a separate thrust washer that he couldn't figure out where to put.

The manual shows it, but he doesn't remember seeing one on the truck when he tore it all down.
He's got the two flat washers and a roller bearing for the top swivel pin, and a tapered bearing for the bottom.

I want to help with this, and wonder if the washer is an alternative to the flat roller bearing?
Is it for a different version of the truck, or are we just totally missing where it's supposed to go? Any advice would be a huge help!

I think that the thrust washer isnt a replacement for the roller bearing,it’s used in some versions of the swivel setup, but not always on NAS trucks. If he didn’t find one when tearing it down, it probably doesn’t belong in that assembly. A lot of kits include parts for multiple variants, so some pieces end up unused
