Has anyone experienced their driver side seat belt still retracting but making a grinding or ratcheting sound like the internal bearings might be worn out? Mine still works but the noise is concerning.. I'm thinking about replacing it with an LR Belts unit but I couldnt find an LR option listed on Rovers North. Any tips?

Yeah, mine started making that sound too before it finally stopped retracting smoothly, I had to look around salvage forums and eBay. It's annoying when it still technically works but sounds off.

Whats on salvage forums? Sorry not familiar at all. So basically the sound just went away eventually?

Sounds like your seat belt retractor's bearings might be worn if it's making that grinding noise but still retracts. You could try a professional repair service that rebuilds them with OEM parts, which is often cheaper than full replacement.

If you want to replace it, make sure to get the exact fit for your model, some parts sellers have them but double-check compatibility. Did you check salvage forums or Facebook groups for parts? Sometimes people sell used units there.

Might be some stuff available at your local dealer. But if you want to save some cash, you could get on other online options anyway.
