help needed sourcing rebuilt or parts for LT85

My LT85 with 12,000 miles just broke down. I'm on the hunt for a good used unit or someone who can rebuild it without breaking the bank. If you have any suggestions or advice, I'd really appreciate it
 
That sucks, especially with such low miles, I'd check local off-road shops ...and I think some folks rebuild LT85s for way less than dealers

yep, I agree that that's a bummer, cause the LT85 is a pretty robust gearbox, so a failure at 12,000 miles is definitely unusual.
you might want to use a used unit if you're on a tight budget, although it's a bit of a gamble.
Your best bet is to find a reputable Land Rover specialist or a salvage yard that can give you a history on the donor vehicle.
Look for a unit that was pulled from a low mileage V8 Defender, cause those are usually well maintained.
Just be prepared that you might still need to get it rebuilt down the line, but it'll get you back on the road for now
